Oru Nadigaiyin Vakku Moolam is the comeback movie for Sonia Agarwal of Kaadhal Kondein & 7G Rainbow Colony fame and it was touted as the Tamil biopic of yesteryear actress Silk Smitha.

The movie deals with the darker side of women in the film industry in general. The reporter of a famous TV channel begins the search for an actress Anjali who disappeared even without her family's knowledge. When he eventually finds her, she reveals the path of her life in the form of a flashback.

Anjali, a poor village girl, comes to Chennai with her mother with a dream of becoming an actress in order to fulfill her father's ambition & to save her family from poverty. After dozens of failures, her mother forces her to sacrifice herself in order to get a chance. She then overcome's her family's poverty and reaches a height in the Industry. What makes her take the decision to go away is the rest of Oru Nadigaiyin Vakku Moolam.

Director Raj Krishna bravely comes with a plot that showcases how women are misused in the Entertainment Industry. However, his old fashioned screenplay & amateurish direction spoils the soup. Stretchy sequences, lengthy conversations, predictable story and snail pace of the screenplay will test one's patience. Lack of continuity & lack of reality are the secondary issues. In the first ten minutes itself, we can predict the quality of the movie.

Cinematography and Music are the major drawbacks. Cinematographer Naga Krishna keeps the camera in the same position without changing the angle throughout some sequences. This kills the feature film effect and gives a tele-serial effect. Adhish's background music is raspy at best.

Sonia Agarwal has done a great job and aptly fits her role. She has scored at many places, emoting well with sadness and depression. Malayalam actress Urmila Unni, Nicole, Raj Kapoor, Jothilakshmi and Manobala also perform well. Ganja Karuppu and Kovai Sarala are wasted. Jithan Ramesh gives an appearance for a song.

Debutant Raj Krishna's Oru Nadigaiyin Vakku Moolam is a collage of amateurish direction, poor screenplay, lengthy dialogues, poor camera work and below average production values. A perfect example for poor film making, a poor Can't Watch!
