The tale of a guy who lives with his girlfriend in illusion
Ram is an IT employee who works in Chennai and visits Bangalore every weekend to spend time with his girl friend Chaaru (Amala Paul). Meanwhile, his company's CEO Latha (also Amala Paul) comes to Chennai. When Ram meets with her, Latha is surprised as to why Ram couldn't identify her as they had already met in Bangalore a few years ago. Wait, what did we just say?!
The screenplay of the first 30 minutes is intentionally misleading. Sequences closely resemble yesteryear movies like Kudaikul Mazhai, Kannukkul Nilavu, Anniyan, Mandhira Punnagai and Kadhalil Vizhundhen. This hapless collage is disappointing. 8 songs tests our patience & spoils the thriller effect. If logic is to be considered, everything is unbelievable and meaningless. Characterization is not carved well and the dialogues are artificial.
Atharva has done a wonderful job and has improvised a lot compared to his debut movie Bana Kathadi. He has scored well in the romantic and action sequences. He performs the stunts well, and due credit to stunt master Rajasekar for some stylish stunts. Amala Paul does a great job as usual, with some nice glamour added in for her fans.
Santhanam has the minimum screen space, but he creates great fun whenever he appears on screen. He impresses with his usual hilarious punches like
Nethu paenja mazhaiyila innaikku mulaicha IT makkale.
Anupama Kumar plays as the mother of Adharva and she has delivered a fabulous performance. Jayaprakash is wasted due to the poor characterization. Nasser has done his part well.
Technically, the movie is good. Especially,
Renikunda fame Shakthi's cinematography is excellent. Editing by Antony L. Ruben and the special effects are also great. G. V. Prakash's music is average and lacks in originality. Except for the
Kangal Neeya song, all others fail to stay with us.
Producer Elred Kumar's debut directorial venture Muppozhudhum Un Karpanigal might have left a good feel had some thought been given to the countless logical loop holes which have destroyed the seriousness of the script. Subtract originality and add in 8 songs to this, and you get the below average MUK. A poor
Can't Watch.
