The game-play of fate in the life of a couple in love
Ithu Kadhal Uthirum Kaalam is a romantic movie directed by Tamizh. J, whose previous venture was
Padaga Saalai. He has also taken charge of cinematography in this P.K. Shiva Shri production. The lead role is also played by Shiva Shri, and music has been composed by Hithesh.
Ithu Kadhal Uthirum Kaalam revolves around lovers and the difficulties that they face. Though this sounds poetic enough for a valentines day treat, the outcome is very different.
Director Tamizh fails to impress the audience with this film. Worthless script and poor casting are the major drawbacks of Ithu Kadhal Uthirum Kaalam. From the first frame to the very last frame, there is nothing interesting to watch. A supposed love story which lacks in good romance is boring.
All the cast including the lead actor cum producer P.K. Shiva Shri, Akhila & Jayan Raj have given average to below-average performances. The comedy track is extremely boring. In particular, the 'comical' dream song of drunkards with an old lady tests one's patience.
Music by Hithesh is also below average. All the song numbers reminds us of old tunes. To top this, the quality of the audio is poor. Cinematography by Tamizh is average. Though the movie has been shot in the villages of Kerala, he has failed to showcase its beauty.
Low budget film makers must take advantage of the fact that audience have matured over the years, and are ready to prefer and welcome movies based on script rather than artist. This is unfortunately not the case with Ithu Kadhal Uthirum Kaalam.
In this film, Director Tamizh stongly believes in a negative, tragic ending. Ofcourse, a lot of love tragedy movies have been sensational hits, but they were not hits just because they were a tragedy. Rather, they succeeded thanks to a beautiful script and supportive screenplay. Ithu Kadhal Uthirum Kaalam fails in those aspects.
Ithu Kadhal Uthirum Kaalam is a good option for those who wish to doze off, a clear
